Good morning and welcome to our One Day At a Time Al-Anon Meeting.

chairperson reads or asks a volunteer to read the suggested Al-Anon welcome. Which can be found in the Al-Anon Alateen service manual page 40 or how Al-Anon works pages 8-9.

Is there someone willing to read the 12 steps and the tradition of the month?

2) ALANON IS FULLY SELF SUPPORTING DECLINING OUTSIDE CONTRIBUTIONS. PLEASE SEND YOUR CONTRIBUTIONS TO WORLD SERVICE OFFICE OUR GROUP IS "ONE DAY AT A TIME' OUR GROUP # IS 30536836.

3) Now we will go around the Globe and Introduce ourselves, "Hi I’m______ from ______

4) The Chairperson reads from Survival to Recovery pg. 19.  "Surrounded by other recovery people, we are learning how to heal our broken hearts and create heathy, productive, joyful lives. We hope you will try our program, for it has lead many of us to serenity, fellowship, and relief from loneliness and pain. Today we are still growing One Day At A Time and we would like to share our stories with you.

5) In Al-Anon this is a gentle reminder that we speak from our own experience and ours is derived from living with the effects of alcoholism. We ask those who are members of other anonymous fellowships not to break their anonymity and to try and identify with the Al-Anon approach for the family illness. Ours is a different experience and calls for a different interpretation

6) Phone Etiquette: Please press * 1 to mute and un-mute yourself. Press * 6 to increase volume and * 4 to decrease volume. Please stay muted at all times unless sharing.   WE HAVE NO TIMEKPEER. WE ASK THAT YOU BE MINDFUL OF OTHERS WHO MAY BE WAITING TO SHARE.

7) FORMAT for this meeting is discussion of our Slogan "One Day At A Time."

ARE NOW OPEN FOR READING AND SHARING  Is there someone willing to start the meeting with a reading from any of our 3 meditation books or any Al-Anon literature?

9) CLOSING
It is now 5 minutes to the top of the hour. At this meeting people who choose to leave their numbers to give or receive outreach will do so after the meeting closes. The bridge remains open for questions and sharing after the formal meeting ends.
The business meeting will take place the 1st Friday of each month.

10) We will close by reading the Al-Anon Just For Today pamphlet/bookmark.

Just for today I will try to live through this day only and not tackle all my problems at once. I can do something for twelve hours that would appall me if I felt that I had to keep it up for a lifetime.

Just for today I will be happy. This assumes to be true what Abraham Lincoln said, "Most folks are as happy as they make up their minds to be."

Just for today I will adjust myself to what is and not try to adjust everything to my own desires. I will take my luck as it comes, and fit myself into it.

Just for today I will try to strengthen my mind. I will study.  I will not be a mental loafer.  I will read something that requires effort, thought and concentration.

Just for today I will exercise my soul in three ways: I will do somebody a good turn and not get found out; if anybody knows of it, it will not count. I will do at least two things I don't want to do just for exercise. I will not show anyone that my feelings are hurt: they maybe hurt, but today I will not show it.

Just for today I will be agreeable. I will look as well as I can, dress becomingly, keep my voice low, be courteous, criticize not one bit. I won't find fault with anything, nor try to improve or regulate anybody else but myself.

Just for today I will have a program I may not follow it exactly, but I will have it. I will save myself from two pests: hurry and indecision.

Just for today I will have a quiet half hour all by myself and relax. During this half hour, I will try to get a better perspective of my life.

Just for today I will be un-afraid, especially I will not be afraid to enjoy what is beautiful, and to believe that as I give to the world, so the world will give back to me.
